Joe Biden, that ever bubbling fount of unintentional humor, decided at an “off the record’ conversation at the Gridion Club to reveal a secret bunker at the Veep’s residence at the Naval Observatory.  Before this administration is over, I suspect that Obama will wish many times that he could simply thrust Biden into the bunker, lock it and throw away the keys.

National Debt Road Trip

Hattip to the Cranky Conservative.  My only suggested improvement to this video would be a shot of the debt car hitting a brick wall which will happen, and I am beginning to think sooner rather than later, when the government is simply unable to find lenders willing to risk their funds to cover our national credit card binge of federal spending.

Bishop Trautman

Bishop Donald Trautman of the Diocese of Erie has spoken out against Obama  Day this coming Monday at Notre Dame:

“The Golden Dome of Notre Dame, the long revered symbol of a Catholic university, will be disgraced and dishonored on this coming May 17th, the commencement day of the university.  On that day the leaders of the university are giving a platform and honorary degree to an individual who is a relentless advocate of unrestricted abortion: President Obama.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Something for the weekend.  The haunting tune The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald sung, of course, by Gordon Lightfoot, possessed of one of the more distinctive singing voices I have ever heard.  The song relates the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975.  A very popular song during my undergrad days, it remains one of my favorite tunes from the Seventies, a decade in which good music was as scarce as an honest politician.
