Typical Catholic leftists, similar to the extremist liberals, if they have a chance to silence their opposition they will.

Thank goodness we live in a democracy where this is tempered. But woe to those that live in leftists societies like Venezuela or Communist China where they imprison you for life (if you’re lucky) or execute you to silence the opposition.

  2. Anthony says:

To be fair, right-wingers in American politics aren’t afraid to silence opposition either. Power, as they say, corrupts…

Why is it that we are so “good” at identifying (or making up!) evils around the world, but we’re unwilling to recognize it in our own house? America…[ed.-edited for foul language] yeah!

We’ve got our fair share of socialism and fascism in America… here, it just comes with a wink and a smile!

Yup, and the left has those bases covered pretty well. Evidenced in the above picture (Elian Gonzales, etc.)

  4. Flambeaux says:

Anthony, since both socialism and fascism are movements of the Left, I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

If right-wingers really were a threat, we shouldn’t have to worry about the treasonous Left in this country.

  5. Anthony says:

I knew the Team America reference was going to get me in trouble…

  6. Anthony says:

Flambeaux… they are “leftist” by nature but utilized across the political spectrum and in service to a variety of ideas; some moral, some immoral. That is, if you consider Republicans actually “right wing”. Since in truth they are merely varying degrees of leftism, I would say your statement is correct.

You’d be hard pressed to convince me that the “conservatives” in government do not hesitate to pull the socialist and fascist cards…. particularly when they wrap themselves in flags while intervening in the rights and affairs of individual americans.

The war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, torture, manipulation of the money supply, subsidies, fooling around in Pakistan, the bailouts, etc… are all policies and actions taken by “conservatives” and “liberals” together. Yet, I would consider all these hardly consistent with what is supposed to be the right-wings main concern: following the Constitution and preserving liberty.

  7. Tito Edwards says:

Don’t forget Freemasons, the Bilderbergs, the Illuminati, and the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.

  8. Anthony says:

you’re speaking my language Tito! 🙂

  9. Tito Edwards says:

Nice to have fun with someone else besides Michael, err, Dan Rather.

  10. Elaine Krewer says:

Conservatives are just as susceptible to original sin as liberals, and while they MAY be LESS likely to become corrupt or abuse power than liberals, I wouldn’t ever say that it can’t happen, or that it doesn’t happen.
