Question for the Day

How many more lies and frauds will the IPCC have to perpetrate on the entire world before we’re allowed to reject it’s scare-mongering without being ridiculed as “deniers” by their blind followers?

“The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.”

I particularly like this part:

One of the problems bedevilling Himalayan glacier research is a lack of reliable data. But an authoritative report published last November by the Indian government said: ‘Himalayan glaciers have not in any way exhibited, especially in recent years, an abnormal annual retreat.’

When this report was issued, Raj Pachauri, the IPCC chairman, denounced it as ‘voodoo science’.

Having been forced to apologise over the 2035 claim, Dr Pachauri blamed Dr Lal, saying his team had failed to apply IPCC procedures.

It was an accusation rebutted angrily by Dr Lal. ‘We as authors followed them to the letter,’ he said. ‘Had we received information that undermined the claim, we would have included it.’

It makes you wonder how accurate other reports dismissed as “voodoo science” might turn out to be if they were given a fair hearing. This is politics, not science.

We’ve seen this before, with abortion, with domestic violence, and in my opinion, the Iraq war (that ought to spark some discussion). Lies and half-truths in order to inspire fear and blind obedience. Don’t think it doesn’t happen on “your side.”

I guess it gets to the point of opinion that is based on incomplete knowledge vs. actual distortion of what is known. Here’s a bit on the Iraq War intel and whether it was distorted.

You forgot PVS research– especially that which says that they might still be people. Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth raised by that guy who woke up a while back….
